RECRUITMENT IN SOCIAL NETWORKS

This report examines the current trends in job searching, the use social networks as an instrument to search for an employee or open vacancy. This article is about capabilities used for job searching and about popular social networks and communities for job searching.

Almost every fifth Internet user is registered in one or more social networks, so it seems logical that a social networks have begun to use recruiters as an alternative source of search.

Key indicators of job search in social networks are:

  • the services of social networks use approximately 30% of applicants;
  • the popularity of social networks among candidates: to find and restore contacts to ask for help in finding a job - 58%,to use blogs - 35%, to use specialized social networks to establish a working relationship - 33%;
  • ratio: 1 vacancy to 3.7 resume of specialized social networks;
  • the proportion of overlapping summaries on specialized sites for find work and in a social communities is almost zero because due to the fact that there are different categories of applicants and different distribution of specialization;
  • the percentage ratio of demand and supply is approximately equal;
  • statistically the user of a social network receives fewer proposals than who posted his resume in the so-called Job Boards (positive side is that the quality of the proposals above when a social network is used);
  • 32% (48 - 65 years old), 18% (30 - 47 years old) and 17% (18 - 29 years old) users are looking for work in social networks, 17% are concerned about the fact that materials from a personal page might damage their careers; 24% believe that active in social networks helps to move up the career ladder (of the total number of applicants);
  • every third employee works for a company that regulates the use of social networks on the work, according to its standards and policies.
