OPTIMIZATION OF SEPARATION CONDITIONS OF Cu2+ AND Pb2+ IONS FROM SOLUTIONS WITH DIATOMITE

Al-Faraby Kazakh National University, Kazakhstan

Possibility of use of a diatomite for extraction of ions Cu2+ and Pb2+ from solutions is shown. It is established that in the range of concentration (0,2-1,0) •10-3 the mole/l degree of extraction of ions Cu2+ and Pb2+ reach 93,5-99,6% and 95,1-99,3% accordingly.

Keywords: Diatomite, Adsorption, Immobilization, Separation degree, Statistical exchange capacity.

Sewage treatment of manufacturing enterprises from a harmful waste is one of actual problems of today. The maintenance in them of ions of heavy metals that demands working out of ways of clearing with high separation degree is especially great. Most widely known way of the decision of the given problem is application of sorbents with high sorption ability. In this connection the purpose of the present work was optimization of separation conditions of copper and lead ions from solutions sorbents on the basis of a natural mineral – a diatomite.
In work have been used diatomites of the Mugodzhar deposit of the Aktyubinsk area (Republic of Kazakhstan).

By working out of ways of clearing of solutions from chemical compounds most turning point is selection of optimum parities between adsorbed substance and an adsorbent. Thereupon we use the big range of concentration of salts of sulfate of copper and nitrate of lead from 10-5 mole/l to 10-1 mole/l. Experiences on Cu2+ and Pb2+ ions separation from these solutions a diatomite have shown that with growth of concentration of salts from 10-5 mole/l to 10-1 mole/l separation degree of metal ions decreases from 92,1 to 15,6% in case of Cu2+ ions and from 91,1 to 20,3% - in case Pb2+ ions (tab. 1).
