Анотація. В даній роботі розглядається проблема незалежності і соборності України. Охарактеризовано державотворчу діяльність Михайла Грушевського. Йому вдалося створити прототип української держави УНР. Він стає автором Конституції УНР, у якій проголошує перелік свобод для громадян. В статті наголошено, що Михайлу Грушевському вдалося пробудити в українцях національну свідомість та наштовхнути їх на шлях виборювання волі. Будуючи державу Грушевський керується принципами законності і моральності. Розглядається мета створення Української Народної Республіки, зміст Конституції УНР та наслідки. Дослідженням доведеено, що Михайло Грушевський відіграв важливу роль у побудові української держави на демократичних засадах.

Annotation. In this paper we consider the problem of the independence and unity of Ukraine. Characterized by state-the work of Mykhailo Hrushevsky. He managed to create a prototype of the Ukrainian state UPR. Figure becomes the author of the Constitution of the UPR, which declares a list of freedoms for citizens. He understands that the driving force of Ukraine is the peasantry, therefore, it is necessary to intensively develop. Mykhailo Hrushevsky was able to awaken Ukrainian national consciousness and to push them on the path of conquest of freedom. Building state Hrushevsky is guided by the principles of legality and morality. Discusses the purpose of creation of Ukrainian people's Republic, the Constitution of the UPR and the consequences. Came to the conclusion that Hrushevsky played an important role in building the Ukrainian state on a democratic basis.
